Texas Politics (Part 2): Bexar County Constable Ruben C. Tejeda up for Re-Election
7829 YEAR LAW ENFORCEMENT VETERAN
Serving his community honorably
Ruben C. Tejeda, grew up on the south side of San Antonio, a graduate of Harlandale High School and began his career in law enforcement in 1977, being elected by his community to become a Bexar County Constable. He has continously given back to the community.
- Instructor for underprivilaged children
- Police instructor
- Special Programs for education- community and student development
Mr. Tejeda has received many awards for his hard work:
- SAPD Merit Award
- TEA Region 20 Community Service Award
- VFW Award
- UTSA Bilingual Education Student Organization Community Service Award
just to name a few.
Most recently, he requested of the County Commissioners to hire two LE Deputy Sheriff's (Bailiff) positions for added security associated with JP Precinct 1, Place 1 and Pre-Trial Services Satellite Office. The County Commissioners approved the positions on a temporary bases to be provided by Constables of Precinct 4.
THE FIGHT FOR PRECINCT ONE CONSTABLE IS A BIG ONE
This election year, it seems there are many takers after the position for Constable of Precinct 1. The newbies:
- Jesse "Jay" Alaniz
- Ray Lopez
- Omar A. Reyes
- Alex Quintanilla
The three aforementioned candidates are working to get their signs out, however, Mr. Quintanilla has littered areas in Somerset where County Commissioner Rodriguez and Ciro Rodriguez have as well.
Mr. Quintanilla has served on the city council of Von Ormy, Texas as well as Mayor Pro-Tem and a member of the Deputy Constable Association of Bexar County. Showing that Mr. Quintanilla has political aspirations, not just in the field of Safety, but in city and rural politics as well. In 2009, he helped to prepare Von Omar to establish the office of City Marshal and possibly a city police department. Growing the government of Von Omar, while sitting as the Chair for the Emergency Services Task Force.
Most recently, during the Thanksgiving holidays, Mr. Quintanilla was spotted at a Chico Rodriguez fundraiser, where Sylvia Ruiz Mendelsohn, appointed ESD6 Board President by Commissioner Rodriguez and Liz Campos, JP involved in "hearsay" controversy with Constable Tejeda were hard at work.

Obviously you have not done your research on this so called "man that gives so much back". He couldn't even fufill his duties of taking care of his judges, other precint officers had to step in to put him in place. He's bipolar and has a power issue going to his head. Out with the OLD and in with the NEW!
I had no clue Constable Tejeda was bi-polar. I guess I've always caught him on a good day, huh.

Can anyone give any reason why we should not keep Mr. Tejeda in this Constable position? I cannot think of any instance where he has performed poorly or shirked his duties in any way. Ever heard of the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?" He's done his job. Leave him alone and let him continue to do so.
